Project Summary Yahoo! first contacted the Grant County EDC in late 2004 as they were beginning to search for a location for a new data center. After looking at sites across the county Yahoo! purchased 50 acres from the Port of Quincy. On August 2, 2006 Yahoo! broke ground on what would become a 180,000 square foot data center.
Just over a year later on December 3, 2007 Yahoo! held a ribbon cutting ceremony that signified that the data center was operational.
The data center will be used to store data that is essential to Yahoo!'s search engine and other properties. |
