Project Summary Starting in the winter of 2005 the Grant County EDC has worked to ensure that REC Silicon's $970 million expansion project came to Moses Lake. The EDC helped local and state officals to secure over $2.5 million in grants and low interest loans to expand public infrastructure that is critical to the REC Silicon project.
REC Silicon broke ground August 15, 2006 and construction is on schedule to be completed by fall of 2008. The new facility will be 20 floors tall and will house several fluid bed reactors that will produce 6,500 metric tons of polysilicon. |
