Rural Sales/Use Tax Deferral Program Ends June 30 in Grant County

A program that granted a deferral of sales/use tax in Grant County will end on June 30, 2010 meaning companies will now have to pay an additional 7.9 percent tax on top of the cost of the construction of new facilities.

The Department of Commerce is now accepting Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for Microenterprise Assistance. Microenterprise assistance grants have a maximum award amount of $250,000.

Gov. Gregoire announced several significant reform measures to ensure Washington State delivers services more efficiently and effectively. The changes include 25 programs that are proposed for transfer out of the new Department of Commerce.
