Katana manufactures windmill towers for power generation. In 2005, the Grant County EDC directed them to an existing building at the Port of Ephrata. Two years later, Katana expanded its operations by constructing 2 new buildings across the street from their existing faciltiy. The expansion enables Katana to complete the entire windmill tower manufacturing process on site. Raw steel is shipped in by rail, and a fully painted and sandblasted windmill tower is shipped out by truck. Katana is the largest manufacturing employer in Ephrata |
