Project Summary

The Grant County EDC has worked hard to ensure that REC Silicon's $970 million expansion project located in Moses Lake. The EDC helped local and state officials to secure over $2.5 million in grants and low interest loans to expand public infrastructure that is critical to the REC Silicon Project.

REC Silicon broke ground August 15, 2006 and the first of several projects has been completed. The new facility is 20 floors tall and houses several fluid bed reactors that will produce 6,500 metric tons of polysilicon.
