Grant County sees the Solar Tech company Violet Power arrive with word on building a solar panel factory in Moses Lake. The factory is to be fully operational late next year and will employ nearly one thousand people. Violet Power is a proud green manufacturer, with a plan to create efficient and durable solar panels with the intent to warranty for 50 years.

We are excited to see another green manufacturer arrive in our area and certainly one that will bring in quite a few jobs to people in Grant County.

This company will bring a significant number of solar panels to the US, freeing it from dependence on imported panels. With access to low-cost silicon and a plant already in place, its no wonder this opportunity was taken by Violet Power.

Washington State has remained focused on green manufacturing across the state, and the Grant County EDC is proud that we can continually offer reliable and affordable power to large companies like Violet Power to produce in a sustainable manner.

According to the interview on the Columbia Basin Herald with Charlie Gay, Violet Power’s CEO, they will likely plan on hiring 500 employees initially with manufacturing experience, and bringing on more as the building ramps up production.
