Mitsubishi announced at Farnborough in 2014 their intention of conducting flight test operations in Moses Lake for their new regional jet the MRJ90. The initial job estimates for Mitsubishi and AeroTEC that would be in Moses Lake was 150 personnel at the Moses Lake facility.  These numbers quickly grew to 200 Mitsubishi employees and 200 AeroTEC employees.  The Port of Moses Lake and the Grant County EDC immediately realized the need to assist Mitsubishi's integration into the Moses Lake community by focusing on housing, food, medical, schools, transportation, and connecting them to local community.

The Port of Moses Lake recruited in a world renowned Japanese Chef that is one of only ten recognized by the Japanese government as an ambassador of Japanese cuisine. By facilitated the connection between Chef Tak and Job Corps in Moses Lake - Job Corp has a culinary program that they have partnered with to help teach the students how to make authentic Japanese food. Chef Tak has also pledged to help place these graduates with Chefs who run Japanese restaurants throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The Grant County International Airport signed a Sister Airport Agreement with the Nagoya airport and hosted the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce in Moses Lake where several “business to business” meetings were set up among Washington and Nagoya companies.

In the Fall of 2017, AeroTEC was able to host a ribbon cutting on their second hanger at the Port of Moses Lake, as they continue to welcome new customers to Moses Lake for flight testing.
