Project Summary
Sila was started in 2011 as a Georgia Tech start-up. After starting production in 2017, they quickly outgrew their space. The company contacted the Grant County EDC in early 2021 with Moses Lake being a potential location for manufacturing its silicon-based anode material, which the company says can boost the energy density of lithium-ion batteries by 20%.
Sila bought a 600,000-square-foot building east of Moses Lake which is located on 160 acres.
